With genuine thanks, but this is as I suspected. The reason I couldn't find a statement from the company saying they would announce the dividend in the first week of February is because there wasn't one.

To be really clear here this is what was said:

"...we outlined the dividend policy within the meeting itself. there is a general view that Beacon should pay dividends, or resume paying dividends under the current management, and we will certainly be looking at that post the end of January and in the first week of February we will be looking seriously at what we can do about a dividend to our shareholders."

That is verbatim transcription. I interpret this as the board have met during the first week of February and have discussed the dividend as a major agenda point and that we can likely expect to hear the outcome of that discussion in the January production update which will likely be issued this week. This is not a case of the company not doing what they said they would do, rather it is a case of someone on HotCopper deciding that a deadline exists where it doesn't, and that misinformation being conveyed down the line.
