Ford Motor Co. hijacked the buzz.
On the @GM Twitter page, it says: "Norway is crushing us at EVs. That’s crazy. We have to do better. Are you in? #EVerybodyIn #NoWayNorway"
So here's what happened: GM released a 90-second version of the TV spot on Wednesday that features actor and comedian Will Ferrell. In the commercial, he hates Norway. He discovers the tiny European country far outpaces the U.S. in electric vehicle adoption. The spot, called "No Way, Norway," includes comedians Kenan Thompson and Awkwafina, who join Ferrell on his journey to give Norwegians a piece of his mind.
Ferrell intends to "crush" Norway. "Let's go, America!"
GM CEO Mary Barra tweeted, "Norway has set the bar high with electric vehicle adoption. We are ready to bring #EVerybodyIn on the #AllElectricFuture."
