Its interesting that Australia is looking to expand defensively in the region.
One would have to say its comensurate with its role in this region as a whole these days.
Whether we can afford it is another story.
But then that may well be a part of it all with the US moving into a very weak financial position in the coming decade others that are relatively financially strong will have to politically play their part and perhaps our build up is all a part of this.
I dont here the Libs complaining too much about this aspect of the Governements spending to date.
