Softwere and data providers the bain of our existance ..
I've used a number over the years ...so get so ecpensive you just dissmis them ..trying to get someone to develope a programe is too expencive and difficult ..to find someone that understands your requests .
However at present i am extremely happy with my current setup .I have 4 screens ..I use a Pats system trading platform that provides live charts ...but I only have a weeks data in them .I use this for trying to finniess entries with is really a waste of time imo ...and sometimes if I feel like jobbing the market, which isn't very often.
Secondly I do my major TA work with a charting programe that i lease for a resonable rate from "market analyst" ..I basicly use 30min data and reaely go for shorter timeframes ..
as usual I've had some issues that have needed to be resolved ..but have found them very helpfull.
I subscribe to a euroupean data provider Morningstar ..I subscribe to delayed data on most world futures exchanges for a reasonable price my whole setup costs aroung 4 SPI ticks a week which is enough to pay IMO.
Some of my trading friends pay $700 USD and more for access to market data news ect .. ....madness ..
So basicly I use delayed data on a sosfisticated softwere package using 30 min charts for TA ... and watch the markets in real time on my trading platfrom charts and quote board it's the most cost effective a trouble free system i have set up and i have all the TA studies I need uncluding a market profile overlay which is central to my trading style .
