Understand the sentiment but your rant is a tad misplaced. Tyro terminals all have a 3G/4G backup so there is no single point of failure if the merchant network goes down.
In my opinion their risk incident mitigation and recovery strategy for their terminals has failed miserably. They should have had a plan at how to avoid or how to recover if the terminal software is the cause of connection failures.
Disappointing since this is their main product and (almost only) revenue driver. Can only hope they learned their lesson.
