They have openly talked about a dividend in the past. From memory, it was just prior to JH coming on board. I can't remember the exact wording (may have been a "special dividend" they considered) but either way it was scuttled fairly soon after she joined. Funnily enough I don't remember any talk of a buy back.
In the past I've been purely in favor of growth focus only. However, with the amount of COH amassing now, I think they should be clearer about their long-term capital management plan. Set a proportion of cash that needs to remain available for investment opportunities, and then plan for what to do with the remainder. I think they can have the best of both worlds.
