I agree with you about the real issue being Global Strategic Importance but consider this:
IMO the point of the article is (equally),(regarding Burma) that the Junta has sold off the farm (family jewels if you wish) to the detriment of the inhabitants.
What's the point?
The point is that is what is happening in Australia. If we had 40 years of Rudd/Swam policies the country would be full of illegal immigrants getting free coffee, paid for by a government selling the last of OUR country, and what remained of the current populations' children and grandchildren wishing to God we had exercised a mediocum of restraint in our desire for the easiest way.
My sentiment says "None" because "disgusted" is not an option to select.
