Global population has nothing to do with climate change (unless you believe that CO2 drives climate change)
There is plenty of space and plenty of resources to support a larger population. Check out this graphic which shows the entire world population footprint if everyone lived in a city. It's a few years old so the population is out but you get the message.
Projections have the global population levelling off naturally in any case...
