This is Asculpeous's guess at an answer:
Once the brine has had most of the Li removed,and pumped to the top layer of the aquifer it will be equivalent to "fresh" water mixing with salt water- the "fresh" sits above the more solute dense brine- and note that our resource is open at depth.(there are many examples of this in estuaries where sea and fresh water meet)

You will also notice that on the first /cover picture of the last presentation that there is a four wheel drive on a track and amongst the rocks are masses of salt crystals.Bet you they are Li salts- so if you spray "fresh" on this, the salts will gradually be dissolved and carried to the aquifer, also rendering the surface able to used for agricultural purposes.Steve is aware of this but doesn't want to dilute the main message that LKE is delivering -and one of these is that the aquifers are being replenished.

Infact,if those surface salts are Li, there could be a quantum leap in the life of the resource by the watering and dissolution process- but that's just for the longer term.Steve himself has said "we need to walk before we run".
