no of course its not about chucking any lithium in , but both carbonate and hydroxide are refined lithium chemicals. With enough investment in refinery you can theoretically produce these from virtually any lithium ,but of course it’s a matter of cost in the real world which rules out a lot of lithium resources.
With graphite it’s the crystalline structure that’s the imperative.
Doesnt matter how much money you put into refining it , once those carbon atoms bonds are set by nature it’s game over.
Of course after that there’s valance state, purity,grade,size etc like other minerals..
