Yes but this court jester who was also a big punster underestimated the king.
When condemned to death he wanted to know when he would be hanged and the King just kept shaking his head, afraid that whatever he said the punster would make him laugh again.
But one day the King in his exasperation uttered the word "no news"
The punster/jester jumped up and down shouting "no noose, no noose" and thus the king had to relent
