The obsession with franking credits, and their impact on dividends never ceases to amaze me.

Why is it so hard to understand that $1 in the hand (untaxed) is no different than a fully franked dividend of 70 cents with a franking credit of 30 cents.

Seeking a company to bring about taxing points to realise a franking credit... makes zero sense. It's a zero sum game.

I find it hilarious that a person somehow gets excited with a fully franked dividend - when the net effect to an untaxed distribution is zilch.

Yet, there is this obsession with franking credits. I have to hand it to Mr Wilson for creating this mythical creature out of franking credits.
