Same thing applies in the private world.
I assure you private equity spends a lot of time thinking about the time to exit.
None of us wants to be running a corner store for the rest of our lives. We want to dress it up for sale and get rid of it quickly, because the mall next door is being built, and sales will probably plummet at our corner store in a couple of years.
The only businesses you want as a private business owner is Apple, Amazon and Costco etc. I'd try and take them private.
