I see your point, Clifton. Having been a station owner and traveled extensively in remote environs for weeks, and sometimes months at a time; loaded down with up to 10 jerry cans the conundrum of EVs and charging in no-man's land has often crossed my mind (even though those days are now over). So I look at it this way (just spit-balling): Now is not the future. In the future - near or close to, a full charge will yield circa 1,000 kms, and Evs will be painted with solar cells to enhance range beyond. And for an emergency recharge you will be able to buy a highly efficient blanket of solar cells, which can be spread out on the ground (much lighter and less dangerous that 10 jerrycans of highly explosive fossil fuel). Sure, that will take time if you run the battery flat, but given the convenience of a solar blanket it wouldn't be too much trouble to keep the battery topped up during stationary periods. The future is full of possibilities.
