This information can be sourced from broker reports for stock trading movements (it shows which broker is buying or selling how much but is delayed a few days)

Dookis for a new trader the clues would be in your course of sales (the menu that shows all the share transactions for the day of the stock) look at the timestamp and add up all the parcels that have gone through.
From a basic point of view most day traders/investors would trade parcels between $500 to 50K (give or take) when you see an order of greater value than 100k or more its generally ( big generalisation but for a newbie to get you thinking) its someone with deep pockets so we assume it is a big investor with money behind them like instos etc

DO you have friends who will put in 250k in a stock? or even 500k? who could possibly have/spend that much in one go?

Hope that helps get the brain juices flowing and always remember there is lots to learn so just take your time and dont rush it as the market is not going anywhere you just need to stay alive (money wise) to keep going in the market
