Are you going to change the opener of John, add this or it, to apply uniformity?

Might I suggest you need to consider or divide some of the OT aspects from or to the NT.
Much of the NT is in the context of Spiritual.

OT walk among, NT among AND in.

The OT seems to show and some NT, spirit came upon them and now after Jesus, IN them.
First human Temple was Jesus, sets the stage, door open etc.
John 14;10 for example = 1;14 and Jesus makes it clear, God dwelt IN him.
You cannot get Unity out of the Greek words here and to boot, you have to add other words to fit in unity.

Look at the OT, re the Tent, Cloud and the Glory filling the Tent.
Same as NT 1:14 and the Glory here is in reference to -> the word of God,.........word of God only begotten of the Father.
That is the Glory they beheld from Jesus, the Temple, to which he was given and over many years.

God set his Tabernacle among them, John 1:14, from which the glory, word of God came from.
1:14 and the Word flesh became and tabernacled in (on, among?) us, and we beheld the Glory of Him (this) Glory as only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Many verses make references to Jesus (Tabernacle) being in people.
Hence the "in" here, two fold, Jesus and the glory, the word of God, tabernacled in them.
Keep in mind, to have Jesus within, is to also have -> the Word of God within Rev 19:13.

If we draw upon Hebrew roots, flesh also has the meaning -> Good News, to bring.
1:14 and the word Good News became and tabernacled in us..................good news as only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
    John Hebrew roots, to boot.

Glory = the word of God John 17:22.
