Ever since the advent of the European Common Market the Europeans have lost interest in Australia, hence their gross farming subsidies (especially the French) at the expense of our farmers ( and many of the developing countries).
What is the old saying about the European agriculture/viniculture - 'Mountains of butter and Lakes of wine'.
