I've known a couple of road train drivers over the years and always used to joke about people not understanding that 116 tons doesn't stop on a dime.

In any case, if you check out Wikipedia, it puts the weight of a triple at about 120 tons and Quads can go up to 136 tons. Most Road trains in the NT are triples and while Quads do happen, they are not so common on the highway in my experience except for the occasional fuel carrier doing runs up and down the Stuart Highway filling up all the Roadhouse fuel tanks etc.
