In general I agree with your comment that they they would turn away capital and I think this was the approach followed by the big 4 banks.
However, it is possible instos will not like retail investors getting too much at 26.60 when the current price is over $35 and will lobby MQG on this. Thus the possibility of a scale back if it is heavily subscribed.
Personally I think anything up to $500m will be allocated in full my MQG but they may scale above that.
