PBL, all small and midcap listed oil companies issue weekly reports ,sometimes even daily. Most of the time they are inconclusive but still indicative. For example, a company will announce that they have encountered hydrocarbons at a certain depth whilst drilling. This is encouraging but means nothing. A large % of wells drilled on the NWS encounter some hydrocarbons , mainly gas, on the way down.Unfortunately the wells all too often turns out to be uncommercial or just a very thin gas bearing sand which is still uncommercial.
By making regular announcements, they give investors to opportunity to bail or buy as the well progresses.
If TSV reported facts on a more regular basis I dont see the problem. There is no reason that TSV cant report well performance in terms of produced fraccing fluid, well pressure, indicative gas volumes etc.
If we go the way some people suggest then they may as well suspend the shares all year and just have one big announcement at the end of the year.
