Qualifiers commence in April, but registrations has been open since Feb 8th. Without promotion before it starts in April they would be unlikely to receive as many registrations. At least the sponsors/partners should be promoting it on social media. They still have time to beta test the platform up until the tournament commences as they are only taking registrations atm. Also, if it was not considered material, then it begs the question, why aren't they acknowledging the tournament's existence yet or answering queries?
