Very good point. I remember offloading some mining stocks years and years back (in my early trading days) because I got wound up in sentiment from news sources and the online panic (brought about by watching the kettle boil, so to speak). If I'd held those positions... Let's not go there.

Good advice, I'm sure other similar shares had people freaking out at stupidly low prices (relative to the ATH) and jumping off early. I couldn't care less if we finish in the red for 6 months. I'm in long (starting from 2017) and have no intention of selling out for a long while.

Fun enjoying the banter, though. Fascinating reading all the different perspectives on here. Naturally nobody has it 100% right (as Buffet pointed out, his bet on the S&P won against vigorous stock trading by the world's best). Great learning everyone's bugbears, too. Some flip at volumes, some freak at media announcements, others watch the instos and their predatory actions, some chart their way into confidence, others just come here to bag others out (to buy cheap, or to make themselves feel a little bigger, I'm not sure).

Back we go on the roller coaster..
