At the end of their lives, chartists will still have their charts but the brokers will have all their capital.
The problem with charts is they are backward looking. A chart may indicate the probability of a stock price going up or down but one significant announcement (good or bad) will blow the charts out of the water.
I like what Warren Buffet says: "Charts are for speculators. Fundamentals are for investors".
