I never saw a contract note or share certificate.. All went by personal word and contacts with Barcley's, de Zoete, Wedd as they were finally known. But as I was involved in other matters with them, it could have been a special arrangement. Once a month they sent me a statement, that's all and I could decide if to draw or settle within 7 days. Memory on details, even their initial name in '69 has faded and I am too lazy to look up old papers (if I could find them), probably at the bottom of the Harbour after the obligatory 7 years.
