Yes I am hypocritical as I do use several free gmail accounts and google maps. And yes there is no difference. It always terrifies me when I see my monthly summary of where I have been on google. Even worse see where I have been around the world since I started using google maps. And that's even after buying all the local SIM cards in the countries I have visited. It's all there. I am sure that is worth something to google and their advertisers.

A local SIM card isn't going to stop "Google Big Brother" if you have location services turned on in Google and you use your account to search etc and use free wifi.
