"If Facebook doesn't want to pay for the intellectual property of commercial news enterprises in Australia, that's fine. But they can't be allowed to steal it. That's just not part of civilised society."

Excuse me but how do FB steal it when it is the commercial news enterprise them selves that upload the content to the page.? If the commercial new enterprises dont want their news on FB then simply dont upload it.

And why do these commercial news enterprises upload that headline?. So they can direct you to a paywalled site that you pay to them.

Sounds like the commercial news enterprises are using the millions of FB accounts to grab readers on the paywall sites without acknowledging FB is their horse that carries them

Odd isnt it that it is now the news enterprises are screaming that FB have taken away their business model. They didnt give 2 hoots last week and were happy to bludge off the carrier. Suddenly the realise that FB was to their benefit.
