Yes the CUV market is so well manipulated it scares many new buyers away without a doubt and I guess that the extremely low volumes also mean existing holders consider the stock well undervalued so they will not sell until a fair price is reached so liquidity is likely to remain low until higher prices are created with CUV. It's just a waiting game until stronger valuations are reached, this year or next year who knows, but I am also sure things like better comms, market forecasts, buybacks and management buying would speed this process up enormously.
If I could also forecast algorithmic behaviour I would say that the CUV share price will almost certainly be pushed below $20 today or tomorrow, probably before a rebound later in the week. I really expect Clinuvel will put out a result of at least 500% increase in Year on Year half yearly profits which should grab a few headlines, can't think of many companies doing that. And that is just with US EPP sales in their very infancy and more growth to come on top of that from Israel, Australian and new Euro markets opening up - maybe even China with circa 5000+ EPP sufferers. Of course zero valuation will be given to the galactic new indications CUV is a strong chance of achieving with their very safe and FDA approved drug - and it is this 'blue sky' valuation which gives many biotechs their lofty valuations even though they have never made a single dollar of profit!!!
As for the shorters I liked the comments from a former ASIC chief in todays Fairfax media that ASIC should focus overwhelmingly on enforcing the law rather than the “fantasy” of setting the rules. We can only hope as it seems the Corporation law is breached each day here in my view.
