How could anybody torture their mind to compare RBL to Amazon (or to their NA and International segments I assume), other than at the most superficial level, when RBL relies on third party fulfillers and third party artists, while Amazon has its own warehouses, for a start?
IMO RBL has demonstrated how it is tossed around on the waves of circumstance, rather than demonstrating any particular virtue, when you look at the hit from shipping issues. They can't raise prices or deepen their productivity, can they? Their market is too competitive and undifferentiated, and it is the 3rd party fulfillers that can benefit from reducing unit costs via productivity, excluding their cost of sales input costs. The market has made a big mistake valuing RBL the way it does IMO.
