Hi Mayo,
You asked me for my opinion. That is based on what I saw today and what I read on the news.
Yes, trade the market you see, not the one you want to see.
Without doubts if she closed at $1.82 today, I was happy to hold, not $1.59!
When is hot, take you cloths off, when is cold, put some on. Not punt.
My opinion is, even if the take over is $2.20, punting at $1.80, is not a wise bet. I would perfer to put my money on St.Kilda winning the final.
My avg is under $1.00 since I started trading her. I am in no rush to get back in. I have doubled my money, and my "Take over" target gain has been done. I plan my trade, and trade my plan, the plan was to milk close to a 100% gain, and have done so. No need to take on any "no need" risk.
From here $1.60 the gain is too small, let's say I put my money on Tomorrow at $1.60, 50% gain is $2.40, and big chance that won't happen. As we all know most of the people here would happy to off load them at $2.20, evern there is a share holder vote, 99% of the people would be happy to sell AIO at $2.20!!!!
I bought heaps more BSL today, the moment after the news from Businesssday about the contract for them to supply steel. In a long run, I know I will make money, just like RIO. And can sleep well at night.
Why? BSL is in the ASX top 50, it is a blue chip. My avg is now $2.38, from there to gain a 50% is $3.54, strong balance sheet after the cap raise. Our nation number one Steel maker. I like my odds.
If you believe the sky is falling, and we won't have a recovery then don't buy BSL.
I like to sleep well at night. I don't like seeing a share go up 26% on Friday and down 11% the next.
I have made good profit, from risky shares over the last two months. I am trying to put those money on blue chips, and if my protfolio can earn me 20% return a year, I will be over the moon.
Miss money is better than losing money.
I would much perfer to put another $100,000 on BSL/RIO tomorrow than AIO. Yes, I am a small fish. The money that I made from AIO are all hard earned, I can see blood in them, hours and days of study and countless trades! I don't want to give it back, base on some speculative punt. Buying risky shares and punt that I will make millions was the mistake I made when I first started trading in 07. Not going to do that again.
