as a Malaysian I know this well. This Industry is heavily regulated which is same as financial institution ie IOU is not BNPL.
I have invested in zip aft, hum and even pre-ipo openpay. Non of this try South east Asia for a reason- high loan default risk especially for this type low entry level loan.
Many of my mates who are Dato and Dato Sri in Malaysia were trying to invest in BNPL in Australia, UK and US and try to avoid any of Asia focused like IOU
