Greenland as a new Nation will have to develop their resources to break free of their financial dependence from Denmark. The danes would like to see it happen. The danish government has steadily worked towards the goal of the Greenlanders to fully govern their own country, under Scandinavian democratic laws which are second to none on this planet.
The issues are environmental impact of mining these areas as they are mostly at sea level. The seas around Greenland are pristine but not untouched. Mining has been carried out since early last century on small scales. Denmark will be interested in the REES as they are heavily into wind turbines development. So hopefully support will come due to the fact China is tying up resources else where. Just my thoughts....I am a dane living in the great land down Under..But I follow politics in DK and europe as well.
