in Him -> Spells out the context, well and truly as to How the "through" is to be taken, context and if that simplicity is not spelled out, Isa and many more, demands it.

Due 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

So, before the plan for a world was, the first of these plans, was for a Jesus IN the future, just like Moses was told.
This plan of a Jesus, is referred to as the Beginning of the creation of God Rev 3:14 and likewise in the mind and plans of God, Jesus was the firstborn of creation Col 1:15.

God and God alone, by himself, created through, by reason of, because of, for the sake of, this future one to be.

The Bible and not wotsup, dictate this True interpretation.
Jesus had ZERO literal, physical hands on role in creation.

It appears, after the cross, now exalted, the Jesus who went from a Jesus to be, to being, he will be a son to God and God a Father to him, to this is my Son, to Only Begotten Son and now in the Bosom of the Father and ref as, the Only Begotten God, John 1:18

There is NO if but maybe's, as to what Begotten means, as all those of God are also begotten, as per what the Bible tells us.
Meaning,.... you once,......... were NOT.
