If the consensus estimate for earnings of 29.2c for 2010 as per FNArena pans out, at today's close price, IPL would be trading at a forward PE of 8.3, which looks about right. But there is just too much flux that can happen between now and then (2010) wherein lies the worry. Same problem I guess for all cyclicals.
Though there could be a good surprise if fertiliser prices and demand turn around sooner rather than later. Don't mind sitting on the fence for a while until the market shows some confidence.
