Mr G, YOU ignore the vital point, the two things in discussion, 1:1 Word and God is what brought about the events in 1:3.
Keeping the word subject in mind, nothing was made without, the same, this, it = word of God, spoken and Jesus is NOT the one saying, and God said.
----------------------
Wotsup , you have gone back to believing God spoke things into existence. The Word in John 1:1 is a person, not something that God said.
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. -- King James
The ''him'' here is the person called the''Word'' at John 1:1. God gave the orders and Jesus obeyed.
(John 1:10, 11) He was in the world, and the world came into existence through him, but the world did not know him. He came to his own home, but his own people did not accept him.
There is no suggestion God was ''in the world''. It was Jesus they ''did not accept''.
BTW Jesus means Jehovah is salvation. (Jeʹsus) [Lat. form of the Gr. I·e·sousʹ, which corresponds to the Heb. Ye·shuʹaʽ or Yehoh·shuʹaʽ and means “Jehovah Is Salvation”].
