Who knows how much they own. They could have even traded this gold with other countries, with its place at Fort Knox only reflective of a holding place.

In any case 8 tonnes is worth what 250 billion. Small change comapred to 2 trillion in debt and rising.

They can't and wont sell their gold because that almost certainly send their USD into a spin.
