The engineering team at ERG Transit Systems Singapore, with support from ERG Transit Systems Sydney, recently commenced work on a new contract to supply, install, commission and support a new bus ticketing system for the Causeway Link Bus Company.
The Malaysian operator provides regular passenger services across the Causeway Bridge between Malaysia and Singapore. The contract was won in direct competition with Wayfarer, Cubic and Pradonet.

Causeway Link owners Handal Indah Sdn Bhd requested a site visit to a TRACS TP5000 operator and were impressed with the positive feedback given by Vix ERG’s reference site, Punchbowl Bus Company.

Demonstrations in Sydney and Malaysia were also received positively. ‘This is an excellent starting point to establish Vix ERG in Malaysia with a prominent and well-respected operator,’ said Mohamad Kader, Head of Sales Asia.
The project will be executed in three phases. Phase 1 includes the ticketing enablement of 30 buses with TP5000, TRACS and software support services. In Phase 2 an additional 150 buses will be deployed in Malaysia, then 45 buses in Singapore for Phase 3.

'We are prepared to deploy this system in record time, as we know our competitors will be watching closely,' said Wilson Kan. 'I am confident of my staff’s abilities and we intend to work with the Sydney team to ensure a smooth commissioning phase.'
