why does everyone think this is some sort of manipulation? does it not occur to people that this trading has alot to do with just plain old fundamentals?

Last night we saw Land securities, the UK's largest REIT crunched by -13% after reporting a 5.2 b loss. (5% worse then expected). It cut the carrying value of shopping centres & offices by -34%. The UK REIT index fell -10%, it's biggest 1 day fall since 1987.

Also in the US, reit's fell as foreclosure fillings rose to a record. S&P 500 Real estate index fell -6.7%

this coupled with capital raisings by gpt and stockland gives plenty of reasons for the fall in sp other then "blatant manipulation"
