Australian super has a option called Member Direct. You have to pay a yearly fee to use this option and as you mentioned it limits you too the ASX300 and you can only have 20% invested in a single share (ie ZIP). I am invested in ZIP using Member Direct it works fine except for the percentage limitations but they are there to protect you really not to go too heavy on one share then it bombs out.
