    I don't think the Yuan/Renminbi will end up being the reserve currency of the world, remember the US dollar embodies more than the strength of the currency itself, its a national ideal that much of of the developing world aspires to.

    I think the previous US administration forgot that with the right to the world's reserve currency comes a great global responsibility. I'm hoping that the US learns its lessons and sorts out its mess. Hopefully China is working hard to remind the US of its responsibilities as they are probably one of the few countries with enough clout to make them hold their promises.

    I think the Euro could be a better global reserve than the US, its becoming that way in Eastern European countries and the European Union is more of a commercial union than anything else!

    Maybe the Australian Dollar can become the reserve!
    It demonstrates properties similar to gold:
    1. Its nearly indestructible
    2. Its pretty much impossible to copy being a polymer and all.
