PIL thread used to such a lovely quiet neighbourhood. Nobody made much money , but everybody knew everybody , we were quiet and respectful of each other’s opinions.
Then values started to rise, and the newcomers began to arrive. We welcomed them at first.... but then more came.... and more..... and more.
They were not like us..... they were loud, and brash and rude! They seemed to have money to burn.... and wanted everybody to know how important they were. Wankers!
The neighbourhood would never be the same again ..... One by one the old timers decided to take the money , sell to these nouveau crepes and move somewhere quieter, and cheaper..... where the Range Rovers were full of rust.... and crusties,....not wankers in polo shirts.
