That's actually not true. Not *all* so called "blue chips" have given outstanding long term shareholder returns...WPL for example has been a blue chip for decades and shareholder returns have hardly beaten CPI as this company is notorious for running itself for managements sake... But sure... your sentiments are sound.. the issue here is whether bluechips look after their existing shareholders in a fair and equitable fashion vs the banker/broker crowd. (hint most of them don't) ....just look at the CR's by the banks over the last decade as an example. It's why their absolute returns for existing shareholders have been crap.. Anyway Cheers IMO (NA)
