I am one of those tight a**e Filos, Majority are big spenders.They spend even before they earn it.BNPL has been in existent in the Phils since the late 1970s. During those days, The agent (your co-worker) gives you a store card as he is the guarantor and pays on your behalf upfront like your purchases in SM Department stores. Then, you pay that person in 4 installments for 2 months period. I think the agent receives a commission from SM Department storeI did not try this as I do not want a debt.The Young Filo ladies love clothes. They feel embarrass if they wear the same dress in the party of their friends.
Also, Many Filos have family members living and working overseas and send money home.
