The Senate is supposed to be The States' House as per Confederation in order to get a fair/equitable deal for the respective States. Instead its just another political talkfest.
IMO, if we went the way of the USA exec Government, we'd need the Senate to vet the nominated Ministers.
Let's hear it folks; there's a lot of drivel on these threads about the good old USA but there seems to be a deafening silence when it comes to emulating them...eh?
Occasionally from the tenor of conversations on these threads , one could be forgiven for thinking that we are Yanks!! Perhaps we are only Yanks when it comes to National Security and anti-China sentiment ..eh? We're dab hands at throwing Yankee shit balls at China ..eh..and then copping the flak at the expense of our farmers and coal miners.
