Makes sense to have an independent body in NOPTA setup and operate for years only to go against there recommendations because it just feels right.
When I google holidays I always makesure there arent any gas rigs located 30km offshore before I organise
it. Just ruins my holidays.And the shark nets up the entire east coast that kill thousands of innocent sea life to keep our surfers safe I'm happy for them but not a drill rig.
Then when you think about it I bet there's 100s of other Gas deposit we can drill to supply the east coast in commonwealth waters so why not drill them hey!

Or just gamble the east coast gas on a couple of inland projects because gas is always 100% guaranteed to flow so we should cancel permits for really shitty reason and then they can run pipes through hundreds of private properties and start a #f*thefarmerswewantgas campaign.
Our boys in government can just import it anyways, China will help us out hey! It's always safe to rely on other countries to keeps ours running.
imagine the laugh they have in parliament when they receive Peter cooks report in Carbon capture and how it can work! f* scientific study they always say hey!

The best one is the gas rig might be a hazard for the flight path for planes coming into Sydney.
