First off I will not give my opinion of someone who claims not to be a professional quoting something like APES 110, as clearly this is a classic example of a little bit of knowledge being dangerous. If you are really an accountant, but ashamed or embarrassed to admit it, then it makes your miss-use and lack of understanding of the application of APES 110 even more troubling

I am very familiar with the APES 110, the application of the code and how it applies to accountants.

And there is no way in even in a wild way out there application of the code has it IMO been breached.

All that has happened here is a bit of animosity on a public forum between 2 people, one of whom may or may not be an accountant. Therefore has absolutely nothing to do with APES 110, which is why uneducated people probably should refrain from drawing reference to it.

I also noted in one of your posts a reference to "special accountants" and the implication these special accountants are not real accountants because they are not degree qualified.

Under the Corporations Act 2001, there are 3 accounting bodies defined as "professional accounting bodies" they are ICAA, CPA and NIA,

The ICAA I believe still allow for a holder of a degree in another discipline to complete a grad cert in accounting or prove relevant work experience to enter the charted accountants program. So even though this person maybe degree qualified, THEY ARE NOT A DEGREE QUALIFIED ACCOUTANT, yet recognized by law and ICAA as being an accountant.

The NIA to become a member, a person must have completed and Assoc Dip in Accounting or similar, and complete the further study and proof the work experience requirements set out by the NIA (similar to the ICAA and CPA programs) and as a Member of the NIA they are recognised by then NIA and by the law as being a member of a professional accounting body and therefore an accountant, but they do not have a degree

Again I suppose a demonstration of the problems the can arise of an uneducated person misusing a little bit of information they find with Google
