People using emotive terms like "promised" are illustrating, again, their lack of understanding.
In the industry, we steer away from terms like "promise" and "deadline" because these evoke emotions of failure and untrustworthiness when things don't go exactly to plan - which is OFTEN.
People here using these terms, when the companies they are referring to rarely/never use them, are simply pushing an agenda that reflects their unrealistic beliefs/understanding about how things operate in the real world.

...and, like clockwork, when someone points out this simple fact, they shout "excuses" from the the rooftops, rather than accepting that it is the reality of resource extraction and processing, that they haven't factored into their investment/trading risk and timing profiles.....

"but they failed to make a deal like they promised"..?
Those calls are amateur-hour-101 stuff.
