speaking to some friends of late about the zippay app.
all high income earners, sophisticated investors, business owners etc , yet almost all of them use or had used zippay . like me, cash is king while debt is cheap...
however what I found interesting, which I only recently discovered myself, is even if a retailer doesn't offer zip, if you shop via the zip app, you can pay via zip anyway - irrespective if the store offers zip or not
the zippay app pre populates a BNPL credit card number which automatically copies across to the credit card payment inputs.
why zip haven't actually marketed this technique harder is beyond me. whilst I know times change and BNPL payment method will be a thing almost ALL payment providers will offer, Many people (especially newer BNPL users) are drawn to signing up to a BNPL provider solely due to their favourite websites / stores / retailers offering said provider.
if more people were made aware of the fact that it doesn't matter if a shop offers zip or not, then subsequently more people would be drawn to it and it's technology.
