You don't have to drop your credit card/s entirely, but you could if you put smaller purchases on debit. Sure, not every customer is going to cancel every credit card.
The average consumer has multiple credit cards, with short interest free periods, getting caught out regularly and overpaying on interest - and the banks try to say BNPL is predatory lending!
If you can cut down on just one card and use a more responsible payment method that has an automated repayment schedule, then why not?
