Often we lose "blind respect" the hard way.

Like when a love one dies and people stop believing in God.

The only post I remember on HC was whoever it was who said: "Those who think their speccies will come good during a bear market are kidding themselves. [Re MAK] Don't get caught holding the bag. All shares tumble during a bear market, the speccies the worst".

There is a love heart poster on HC I used to follow blindly. If he said a stock was good, I bought it (until I took a huge loss on WHE). The same with two collegues I love on T$ (who are now gone). Luckily then, I dumped NUP and THR with profit or minimal damage rather than listen blindly to them.

I can remember when the boys came back from Broome and I was thinking about selling 50% of my UMC and the order was made: "Don't anyone sell one share". I followed.

Some are indeed worthy of heaps of respect, so much more than myself. But never regard someone too highly. You get burned everytime you do that.
