The share buy back can serve either one of two purposes and depending on the timing of announcements, the sp can be driven either up or down by the company. I know that this is in breach of ASX listing rules but let's be realistic, the timing of announcements serves the objectives of publicly listed companies extremely well.
All I can say is that from its actions since the share buy back announcement on 27 March it appears that the company is intent on opportunistic buying at the lowest sp's possible and that might give us an accurate indication of the timing of future announcements.
